Hurt…..William (Pete) M. Haskins, age 72 of Hurt was called home to be with the Lord Tuesday, December 25, 2012 at the residence of his son, Scott.
Born September 4, 1940 in Pittsylvania County, he was a son of the late James Ernest Haskins and Snowie Barber Haskins. He was predeceased by a brother, James Wesley Haskins. Mr. Haskins retired from Burlington Industries after more than 40 years of service. Pete enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia K. Haskins of the residence; one son Scott Haskins and wife, Jacquie of Lynchburg; one brother, Glenn Haskins and wife Cathy of Brights; two sisters, Barbara Franklin and husband, Ned of Gretna and Ann Barbour and husband, Calvin of Gretna; five grandchildren, Derek Haskins, Mark Haskins, Wesley Haskins, Fawn Haskins and Hannah Haskins; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Friday, December 28, 2012 at the Colbert-Moran Chapel by Lory Brafford, Minister and Curtis English. Burial will follow in Altavista Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, December 27, 2012 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence of his son, Scott, 132 Sandy Drive, Lynchburg.
