William Gerald "Jerry" Fuller, 79 of Callands took his journey to heaven as the greatest of angels on Thursday, September 16 - on his sixty-first wedding anniversary.

Those family members preceding him in the Church Triumphant are his father, Joseph H Fuller; mother Lucile Jefferson Fuller; step-mother Jonnie Giles Fuller and infant son, Mark Carlton Fuller.

Surrounded by all the beautiful flowers he lovingly left for us, are his wife, Ruby "Fern" Fuller; son William "Anthony" Fuller and Janet Fuller; granddaughter Brittany Starn and husband Reggie Irvin; son Joseph Carter Fuller and wife Stephanie; granddaughter Mariah Claire and husband, Zach Winslow; and grandson, Luke Wade Fuller.

Jerry worked at Dupont in Martinsville for 29 years and VDOT after retiring. He had many fond and funny memories of those years and the friendships he made. An active member of Museville Christian Church since his marriage, he enjoyed playing on the church softball team. Jerry loved baseball, especially his Cleveland Indians, in spite of them not winning a championship since 1948.

After retiring Jerry and Fern enjoyed their many trips across the United States and Canada. Jerry planned every detail of their trips and later the trips of every family member and friend in the surrounding area. He was an avid collector of all things including, caps, diecast cars, bobbleheads, train sets, clowns, etc. etc. etc. His most recent obsession was making and collecting diddley bows. Jerry's beautiful plants and flowers were a symbol of his love of gardening. You could often find Jerry mowing the yards of family and friends, and spreading Round-Up wherever a weed could be found.

Jerry was always helping others either by visiting someone or providing a "ride-share" service for anyone who needed to be at an appointment. He loved being shadowed by his faithful redbone hound, Annie, and bashful beagle, Lucky.

A memorial service will be held at Museville Christian Church, 343 Columbus Road, Chatham, Virginia on Saturday, September 25 at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Museville Christian Church Missionary Fund.
