Gretna…..William Bentley Dews, 53 of Gretna died Monday. November 28, 2011 in Danville Regional Medical Center.
Born September 23, 1958 in Danville he was the son of Sue Dudley Wood, of Gretna. Bill was predeceased by his grandmother, Margerite Dudley, his great-grandfather, Bentley Coffey and a great-aunt and uncle, William and Elva Scott; and an aunt, Ginger Dudley Abshire, all of who had a great influence on his life. He was a graduate of Hargrave Military Academy and Longwood College. He was a member of Anderson Memorial United Methodist Church.
He is also, survived by a cousin E. Scott Callahan and wife, Sharon and children, Christopher Callahan, and Shanna Jones.
Due to family being in the process of moving the family will not receive visitors.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Gretna Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 14, Gretna, VA 24557 or to your favorite charity.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
