William Floyd Bowler

Gretna..........William Floyd Bowler, age 87 of 2037 East Gretna Road, Gretna died Saturday, August 14, 2010 at Gretna Health and Rehab Center.
Born September 6, 1922 in Pittsylvania County he was a son of the late William Tyler Bowler and Nannie Shelton Bowler. He was predeceased by four brothers, Rubie Thornton Bowler, Ollie Coleman Bowler, James Ellis Bowler, and Charlie B. Bowler. He was a member of Greenfield Baptist Church, and was an Army Veteran of World War II where he received the Purple Heart. Mr. Bowler was a member of American Legion Post 232, life member of DAV Chapter 19, and member of VFW Post 873. He was the owner/operator of Bowler Lumber Company. Mr. Bowler enjoyed his great-grandchildren, and loved to talk and visit with friends.
He is survived by his wife, Larrie Hardy Bowler of the residence; a daughter, Brenda Chism and her husband, Roger of Gretna; a granddaughter, Tanya Correal; and two great-grandchildren, Lillie Grace Correal, and Allison Rose Correal. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 16, 2010 at Greenfield Baptist Church by Rev. R.G. Rowland. Burial with Military Honor by The Virginia National Guard Honor Guard will follow in Gretna Burial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Sunday at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
