Hurt……….Willard Carol Bentley, age 81 of Hurt died Tuesday, January 21, 2020.
Born December 8, 1938 in Wise County, he was a son of the late Benjamin Harrison Bentley and Stella May Roberts Bentley. He was predeceased by a great-granddaughter, D'Angel Ashley Easton-Williams; three brothers, Harrison Bentley, Clarence Bentley, and James Bentley; and two sisters, Lena Bentley, and Daisy Davidson. Mr. Bentley was a member of Motley Baptist Church. He was known as the "Turkey Man" and he enjoyed animals especially chickens and turkeys, and he also enjoyed hauling junk.
He is survived by his wife, Glenda Gardner Bentley of Hurt; one son, Jamie Carol Bentley of Baltimore, MD; two daughters, Diane Fielder of Sandy Level, and Lana Huber and husband Kevin of Baltimore, MD; two brothers, his twin brother, Walter Bentley of Covington, and Frank Bentley of Miami, FL; four grandchildren, Jessica Easton-Williams, Danna Becker, David Hall, and Brittney Hall; seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 25, 2020 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Pastor Mitch Etheridge. Burial will follow in Pittsville Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, January 24, 2020 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
