Hurt……….Wilford Clayborn Reynolds, age 77 of 208 Ramp Road, Hurt died Thursday, February 26, 2015 at the Gretna Health and Rehab Center.
Born July 14, 1937 in Galax he was a son of the late Jerome D. (JD) Reynolds and Rachel Fortner Reynolds. He was predeceased by his first wife, Clara McDaniel Reynolds; a son, Wilford Thomas (Tommy) Reynolds; and one sister, Brenda Pickeral. Mr. Reynolds was a member of Church of God of Prophecy, Altavista and was a woodworker for Winebarger Church Furniture. He greatly enjoyed working on cars, mowing yards, woodworking, and being a handy man.
He is survived by his wife, Arlene Layne Reynolds of the residence; three daughters, Melissa Reynolds of Hurt, Kim Shelton of Gretna, and Kristie Moore of Gretna; a step-daughter, Jo Ann McConnell of Greensboro, NC; one brother, Mike Reynolds of Martinsville; two sisters, Oleda Clark of Suffolk and Shirley Stuart of Danville; 7 grandchildren and 4 Great-Grandchildren; and 3 Step-Grandchildren and 3 Step-Great-Grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Monday, March 2, 2015 at the Church of God of Prophecy, Altavista by Pastor Wayne Murphy, Rev. Alfred Rimmer and R.J. Reynolds, Minister. Burial will follow in Altavista Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 P.M. Sunday, March 1, 2015 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
