Wilda Pickrel Smith, age 97 of St. Petersburg, FL died peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, January 3, 2016 at Suncoast Hospice in Pinellas Park, FL.
Born April 6, 1918 in Gretna, VA she was the daughter of the late Isaac Pickrel and Hester Ann George Pickrel. She was married to the late J.O. "Bill" Smith.
She worked in Washington, DC as Secretary to Controller of the Army Map Service, Corp of Engineers until she moved to FL in 1957. She traveled extensively with Bill, and enjoyed reading, putting together jigsaw puzzles, golfing and dancing.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
A memorial celebration of her life will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Pastor Betty Spencer.
