Gretna……….Wesley Hunt Yeatts, age 80 of Gretna died Sunday, April 26, 2015 at his residence. He left his earthly home for his eternal home to be reunited with his beloved wife, Shirley C. Yeatts, whom he missed greatly.
Born July 3, 1934 in Pittsylvania County he was a son of the late Berkley Garbel Yeatts and Helena Hughey Yeatts. He was a farmer; and enjoyed working with his cows and his farm land. Wesley graduated from Climax High School in 1952 and attended Wake Forest. He was a Veteran of the Virginia National Guard. He was known for keeping his daily scheduled visits to Cross Roads Restaurant and Blairs Store.
He is survived by two step-sons, James (Rocky) Fletcher and his wife, Rita of Danville and Terry Fletcher of Danville; one step-daughter, Tammy Fletcher Shelton of Glen Allen; and four grandchildren, Cory Burke, Joshua Fletcher, Lauren Shelton and Cody Fletcher.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. R.G. Rowland. Burial will follow in Gretna Burial Park.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10 to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
