Hurt………Wayne Clifford Wood, age 80 of Hurt died Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at his residence.

Born June 3, 1944 in West Virginia, he was a son of the late Everett Wood and Annie Marie Goff Wood.  He was predeceased by his wife, Wilda Lee Ayers Wood; a son, Thurmond Wood; two brothers, Fred Wood and Jimmy Wood; and two sisters, Norma Jean Richards and Mary Trent.  Mr. Wood retired from Klopman Mills; and he enjoyed gardening, being outdoors, tinkering on old cars and watching Westerns.

He is survived by one son, James Wood of Gretna; two daughters, Leona Rowland of Grit and Theresa Myers and husband, Kenneth of Hurt; one brother, Walter Wood of Bedford; one sister, Nellie Barker of West Virginia; nine grandchildren, Alisha, Elizabeth, Cody, Kaitlyn, Delta, Tawny, Betty Jean, Cheyenne and Jacob; and five great-grandchildren.

Per his request there will be no public service.
