Sandy Level………Wayne Steven Franck, Sr., age 64 of Sandy Level, died Thursday, February 23, 2023 at his residence after a short fight with cancer.

Born January 20, 1959 in Richmond, he was a son of the late Mary Lee Elder.

Wayne joined the United States Army on November 8th, 1976 when he was 17 years old and served for 22 years until his retirement on April 30th, 1999.  His favorite assignments were with the 101 ^st Airborne Division that included a combat tour with the division during the first Gulf War in Iraq.

His hobbies included many years of playing music, singing and song writing.  He loved spending time enjoying wildlife and mother nature.  His most enjoyable times were fishing in a quiet peaceful environment.

He is survived by a special friend, Lisa Blair of Hurt; two children, Wayne Steven Franck, Jr. of New Mexico and Christa Cheri Franck of New Mexico; and six grandchildren.
