Gretna……….Charles Wayne Cook, age 86 of Gretna died Sunday, May 16, 2021 at his residence.

Born September 3, 1934 in Pittsylvania County, he was a son of the late William Casper Cook and Clella Tuck Cook.  He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret Brenner Cook; and one brother, Obie Cook.  Mr. Cook was an Air Force Veteran and retired from American Airlines.  He was a big NASCAR and Football fan, especially Richard Petty, Kyle Busch and the Redskins.

He is survived by one son, Charles "Sid" Cook of Louisville, KY; two brothers, W.C. Cook of Gretna, and Troy Cook and wife, Wanda of Penhook; one sister, Charlotte Rowland and husband, R.E. of Gretna; and a sister-in-law, Geraldine Cook of Hurt.

Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at Liberty Memorial Cemetery by Rev. R.G. Rowland.
