Gretna………Virginia Mae Worley Doss, age 91 of Gretna, died Monday, December 12, 2022 at her residence.

Born May 21, 1931 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Dock C. Worley and Nettie Shelton Worley.  She was predeceased by her husband, Leroy Chesley Doss, Sr.; two grandsons, Larry Simpson and Timmy Gilbert; five sisters, Ruby Gunn, Elnora Pickeral, Evelyn "Toot" Doss, Myrtle Davis and Joyce Blevins; and two brothers, Bobby Worley and Calvin "Bill" Worley.  Mrs. Doss was a member of West End Church of Christ and she was a retired seamstress with Sara Lee Textiles.  She enjoyed working in tobacco, looking after family, sewing, canning and traveling.

She is survived by three sons, Ronnie Doss and wife, Brenda of Gretna, James Doss of Gretna and Leroy Doss, Jr. and wife, Karla of Gretna; two daughters, Betty Meeks and husband Ronnie of Madison Heights and Wanda Worley and husband, Mike of Gretna; one brother, Jack Worley and wife, Wanda of Pennsylvania; one sister, Nancy Bryant of Gretna; 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at West End Church of Christ by Randy Parker, Minister and Rev. Lynn Marstin.  Burial will follow in Gretna Burial Park.

The family will receive friends at the residence.
