Gretna…..Virginia (Gran) West Irby, age 71 of 716 Irby Circle, Gretna died Saturday, November 22, 2014 at her residence.
Born January 5, 1943 in Campbell County she was a daughter of the late Victor West and Capitola Catron West. She was predeceased by her husband, Calvin (Minky) Richard Irby, Sr. Mrs. Irby was a retired Inspector for Klopman Mills. She loved bird watching, gardening and shopping at the Farmer's Market. Mrs. Irby also enjoyed cooking, watching Dancing With The Stars and spending time with her family.
She is survived by one son, Calvin (Junk) R. Irby, Jr. and his wife, Michele of Long Island; one daughter, Cindy Crews of Gretna; one brother, Ralph West of Lynch Station; one sister, Ella Burton of Altavista; six grandchildren, Michael Irby and his wife, Amber, Richard Irby, III, Sherry Crews & her fiancé, Nathan, Jennifer Tuck and her husband, David, Heather Shirey and Raye Shirey; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Monday, November 24, 2014 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Lynn Marstin. Burial will follow in the Carl O. Moran Memorial Garden.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Sunday, November 23, 2014 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
