Hurt……….Virginia Roberts Rice, age 79 of Hurt died Monday, July 23, 2012 at Lynchburg General Hospital.
Born April 27, 1933 in Pittsylvania County she was a daughter of the late Lillard Richard Roberts and Fleeter Mattox Roberts. Mrs. Rice was predeceased by her husband, Charlie Board Rice; and a son-in-law, Harmon (Dale) Barksdale. She was a member of Hurt United Methodist Church. Mrs. Rice was a home maker and a baby sitter of the Hurt community.
She is survived by a son, Gary Rice of Hurt; a daughter, Pat Barksdale of Hurt; and two sisters, Earline Lambert of Hurt, and Lucille Barbour, of Altavista.
Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at Green Lawn Cemetery by Rev. Carlton Gunter.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence of her daughter, Pat Barksdale, 6365 Dews Road, Hurt.
