Gretna……….Virginia Ree Osborne Hoskins age 96 of Gretna passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2017 surrounded by her family.
Born January 25, 1921 in Pittsylvania County she was a daughter of the late Jessie James "Jack" Osborne and Tennie Towler Osborne. She was predeceased by her husband, James Monroe Tosh; one son, Jim Tosh; two brothers, Denton Osborne and Randy Osborne. She was a member of Greenbay Christian Church and was a home maker. She enjoyed cooking, canning, gardening and spending time with her family.
She is survived by one son, Bill Tosh and wife, Kathy of Danville; five daughters, Hazel Faye Gray of Danville, Linda Thompson of Gretna, Pauline Leonard and husband, Nathan of Gretna, Christine Haskins and husband, Kenneth of Chatham and Colleen Hardy of Gretna; three step-daughters, Doris Jones, Betty Adkins and husband, Wilson and Louise Davis; one brother, Pete Osborne and wife, Hazel of Danville; 16 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, 22 great-great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Ruby Pickral.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Pastor Dean "Buster" Anderson. Burial will follow in Olive Branch Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, April 21, 2017 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence of her daughter and son-in-law, Christine and Kenneth Haskins, 1589 Old Mine Road, Chatham.
