Hurt……. Virginia Sue Gibson (Hankins) 66, of Hurt VA, was ushered out of this life into The Arms of Jesus with her daughters by her side after a long hard fight with cancer. She was an active member at St John's Episcopal Church for all of her life. She enjoyed gardening and cooking; including her famous potato salad and pineapple cake that was sought after by many. A sucker for cats, she made sure stray cats were provided with meals each night. She was most proud of being a grandmother.

She is rejoicing in heaven with her husband of 13 years Cecil Gibson, her mother and father, Owen and Sue Hankins, and her brother, Mikey Hankins.

Left to cherish her memories are her two daughters, Karen Francis and husband, Michael of Hurt, Elizabeth Frazier and husband, Bobby of Amherst; one stepson, Jake Gibson of Brights; her twin brother, Robert Hankins of Hurt, one sister, Starlette Henry of Gretna; grandchildren, Ashley Francis, Andrea Francis, Kaleb Frazier and Alayna Frazier; an unborn great grandson with whom she's currently getting acquainted; numerous step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, and step-great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and Vicki Loftis, a cherished friend for over 50 years.

Per her wish a celebration of life will be held in the Spring.
