Virginia Ramsey Bolling

GRETNA-Virginia Ramsey Bolling, age 89 of Gretna, died Friday, March 19, 2010 at Danville Regional Medical Center.

Born August 12, 1920 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Cabell Ramsey and Laura Saunders Ramsey. She was predeceased by her husband, Junior Lee Bolling; one brother, Morris Ramsey; two sisters, Ethel Shields and Dora Ramsey. Mrs. Bolling was a member of the Mountain View Christian Church, and a former member of the Gretna Chapter No. 118 Order of the Eastern Star. She worked at The Store, Craddock-Terry Shoe factory and several restaurants in the Gretna area. Mrs. Bolling enjoyed quilting, sewing, vegetable gardening and canning.

She is survived by one son, Raleigh L. Bolling and wife, Betty Jean of Gretna; 7 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 21, 2010 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Hank Brady. Burial will follow in Gretna Burial Park.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Saturday, March 20, 2010 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence of her son, Raleigh L. Bolling, 1108 Sandy Road, Gretna.
