Chatham…….Elbert Vernon Hedrick, age 61 of 720 Colony Road, Chatham went home to be with Jesus on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at his residence.
Born May 4, 1953 in Danville, he was a son of Dorothy Shelton Hedrick and the late Elbert Adams Hedrick. He was predeceased by a brother, Calvin L. Hedrick, Sr. and a grandchild, Drake Robertson. Mr. Hedrick was a member of Museville Christian Church and was an employee of Times Fiber. He loved to hunt and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Trudy Speck Hedrick of the residence; two daughters, Stormy Robertson of Chatham and Amy Anderson and her husband, Dean of Chatham; three sisters, Barbara Cook and her husband, W.C. of Gretna, Betty Sue Wells and her husband, Kenny of Chatham, and Janet Rowland and her husband, Ricky of Gretna; and four grandchildren, Monica Robertson, Tristan Anderson, Tori Anderson, Izabella Unrue.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Museville Christian Church by Conley Stephenson, Minister and Ted Clifton, Minister. Burial will follow in the Hedrick Family Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Friday, August 29, 2014 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
