Gretna...........Vern (Little Buddy) Wade Brumfield, age 66 of 311 Owens Mill Road, Gretna died Tuesday, March 20, 2012 as the result of an automobile accident.
Born November 14, 1945 in Virginia, he was a son of the late Paul Wesley Brumfield and Virginia Barker Brumfield. He was also predeceased by a sister, Patsy Anderson. Mr. Brumfield was a plumber, electrician, and employee of Mountain View Dairy Farm. He loved racing, fishing, and grilling and cooking for his family.
He is survived by one son, Rodney Brumfield of Gretna; one daughter, Rachel Dunford and her husband, Darrell of Dry Fork; four brothers, Morgan (Bill) Brumfield of Gretna, Andy Brumfield of Pittsville, Paul Brumfield of Gretna, and Randy Brumfield of Gretna; three sisters, Linda Sue Simpson of Gretna, Angelia Hines of Gretna, and Donna Meeks of Gretna; two granddaughters, Samantha Betterton, and Madisyn Dunford; and a special friend, Betty Myers of Gretna.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Friday, March 23, 2012 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Gary Phillips. Burial will follow in the Brumfield Family Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Thursday, March 22, 2012 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
