Gretna…….Travis Lee Thompson, age 31 of Gretna passed away Wednesday, December 10, 2025.

Born July 8, 1994 in Lynchburg he was a son of Donald "Duck" Lee Thompson and  Jerri Elizabeth Sherwood Thompson of Gretna.  He was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Dorothy Waller; and his paternal grandparents, Richard and Thelma Thompson.  Travis loved to fish and was passionate about reading the Bible.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and coloring with his daughter, Julie.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his daughter, Julie Thompson of the residence; maternal grandfather, Harry Sherwood and wife, Pam of Gretna; brother, Daniel Boley and wife, Xiomara of Woodbridge; sister, Elizabeth Yeatts and husband, Ryan of Gretna; two uncles, Chris Sherwood and wife, Marlena of Lynchburg and Ricky Sherwood and wife, Kathy of Georgia; two aunts, Gail Viar and husband, Ira of Lynchburg and Peggy Cook of Gretna; niece, Sophia Boley; two nephews, Colby Yeatts and Caleb Yeatts; numerous cousins; and many close friends and fishing buddies.

Memorial services will be conducted on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Spring Road Baptist Church with Pastor Ronnie Simpson and Reverend R.G. Rowland officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Spring Road Baptist Church, 2528 Spring Road, Hurt, VA 24563.
