Fairfax…..Tony Michael Burnette, age 58 of Fairfax died Friday, July 5, 2013.
Born October 17, 1954 in Pittsylvania County he was a son of Annie Bosiger Burnette of Gretna and the late Ben Taw Burnette. He was predeceased by two brothers, Ronald Ray Burnette and Benny Burnette. Tony was a graduate of Virginia Tech and was a retired employee of Arlington County. He was an avid fly fisherman and a huge Washington Redskins fan.
In addition to his mother he is survived by his beloved wife, Karen Burnette of the residence; a loving father of his son, Jesse Burnette of Fairfax and his daughter, Annie Burnette of Portland, OR; two brothers, Bobby Burnette and his wife, Jane of Danville, and Donald Burnette of Gretna; one sister, Janet B. Carico and her husband, Lee of Wise; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Burnette of Gretna, and Judy Kirby and her husband Ronney of Springfield; a brother-in-law, Kim Tomlinson and his wife, Laura Stanton of Philadelphia, PA; and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 13, 2013 at Gretna Burial Park by Rev. Harold Thornton.
