Gretna……….Thomas "Tommy" Wayne Saunders, age 74 of Gretna died Friday, March 29, 2019 at Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born February 26, 1945 in Pittsylvania County, he was a son of the late Herbert Thomas Saunders and Alice Margaret Davis Saunders.  He was predeceased by a brother, John William Saunders; and two sisters, Barbara S. Hancock, and Beulah S. Dishman.  Mr. Saunders was a member of Greenfield Baptist Church, and retired from Ennis Inc.   He enjoyed driving and working on tractors, gardening, repairing old tools, and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of over 52 years, Gladys Saunders of the residence; one son, Anthony Saunders and wife, Laura of Gretna; one daughter, Stormy Cline and husband, Bobby of Gretna; one sister Annie Marie Wilson and husband, Jack of Gretna; and five grandchildren, Hunter Cline, Dylan Cline, Walker Cline, Jessica Saunders, and Ryan Saunders.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 1, 2019 at Greenfield Baptist Church by Rev. R.G. Rowland.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, March 31, 2019 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence of his son and daughter-in-law, Anthony and Laura Saunders, 4825 Deer View Road, Gretna.
