Gretna………Calvin Thomas “Tommy” Hodges, Jr., age 78 of Gretna passed away Saturday, October 10, 2026.

Born November 24, 1947 in Bedford County, he was a son of the late Calvin Thomas Hodges, Sr. and Alice Ashwell Hodges. He was predeceased by his wife, Louise Hendricks Hodges; and a brother-in-law, Joe Puryear.  Mr. Hodges was a member of Lebanon United Methodist Church and was a painter by trade.

He is survived by two sons, Edward “Ed” Hodges and wife, Carol of Hurt, and Jerry Hodges of Gretna; three sisters, Barbara Puryear of Washington, NC, Jeanette Pickrel and husband, Freddie of Forest and Shirley Miear and husband, Ronnie of Forest; two grandchildren, TW Hodges and wife, Hailey, and Kristen Hodges; and four great-grandchildren, Natalie Thomas, Remi Hodges, Wyatt Hodges and Everlee Kelley.

Memorial services will conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 24, 2026 at Lebanon United Methodist Church by Rev. Sue Keen. 

The family will receive friends at the residence of his son and daughter-in-law, Ed and Carol Hodges.
