Hurt……….Thomas "Tommy" Lee Green, age 64 of Hurt died Tuesday, July 20, 2016 at Lynchburg General Hospital.
Born November 20, 1951 in Lynchburg, he was a son of the late William Jesse Green and Viola Simpson Green. He was predeceased by two brothers, William David Green and Jesse Green. Mr. Green retired from Norfolk-Southern and was a United States Navy Veteran. He loved traveling to Florida in the winter and enjoyed floating the river.
He is survived by a daughter, Shannon Rigney and husband, Paul of Chatham; two sons, Travis Green of Hurt and Josh Green of Hurt; one brother, John Green and wife, Eunice of Lynch Station; two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Doss of Gretna and Lizzie Mae Green of Hurt; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services with Military Honors by American Legion Altavista Post 36 and Gretna Post 232 will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Lynn Marstin. Burial will be held at a later date.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, July 22, 2016 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence of his daughter and son-in-law, Shannon and Paul Rigney.
