Gretna…....William "Tommy" Thomas Gay, age 78, of Gretna died on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at his residence.

Born on May 8, 1939 in Pittsylvania County, he was a son of the late Harry Steele Gay and Ethel Blair Gay. He was predeceased by a brother, Kenny Gay. Mr. Gay was a member at Anderson Memorial United Methodist Church and was a Navy Veteran. He was an employee of the Lane Company for over 25 years and also worked for L.C. Trucking. Tommy enjoyed traveling and outings with friends.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Bowling Gay of the residence; one son, Ricky Lee Saunders and Tammy; one brother, David Gay and Lisa; three sisters, Pat Dunn and Gerald, Phyllis Farris and Tommy, and Susan Shelton and Len; three grandchildren, Gwen Saunders, Matt Saunders and Ricky Saunders, Jr.; and one great-grandchild, Gabe Layne.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Larry Evans, Minister. Burial with Military Honors by American Legion Altavista Post 36 and Gretna Post 232 will follow in Gretna Burial Park.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
