Thomas "Tom Boy" Payne

Gretna……….Dave Thomas "Tom Boy" Payne, age 71 of 5305 Deer View Road, Gretna died Thursday, February 26, 2015 at his residence.
Born May 10, 1943 in Pittsylvania County, he was a son of the late James Nathan Payne and Lillian Brooks Payne. He was predeceased by a sister, Betty Jean Payne. Mr. Payne was a farmer; he enjoyed gardening and working on old tractors. He loved his dogs and cats.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Hearp Payne of the residence; one brother, Edward Payne & wife, Marie of Gretna; one sister, Christine Mays of Gretna; a brother-in-law, Robert Hearp of Chatham; two nephews, Jonathan Hearp and Charles Payne; and two nieces, Linda Newman and Janice Neal.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday, March 1, 2015 at Carl O. Memorial Garden by Rev. Lynn Marstin and Pastor Matthew Speck.
The family will receive friends at the residence.
