Altavista……Theresa Rice, age 86 of Altavista died Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at her residence.

Born January 30, 1939 in Lynchburg, she was a daughter of the late Jack Larkin Burnette and Kathleen Langford Burnette.  She was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence William "Bud" Rice, Jr.; and one brother, Robert Wayne Burnette.  Mrs. Rice attended College Hill Baptist Church and she retired from Klopman Mills.  She was a very generous, wonderful person that loved everybody.

She is survived by two sons, Darrell Rice and wife, Tina of Altavista; and Steven Rice and wife, Catherine of Altavista; one sister, Carolyn Burnette of Lynchburg; daughter-in-law, JoAnn Rice; four grandchildren, Tiffany Krehely and husband, Keith, Whitney Rice, Leslie Chevalier and husband, Mark and Brian Rice; and four great-grandchildren, Samuel, Brianna, Brandon and Madison.

Graveside services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2025 at the Rice Family Cemetery by Pastor W.L. Pillow and Coleman Mayhew.
