Hurt…….Sylvia Dove Scott, age 87 of Hurt died Friday, December 22, 2023 at the Summit in Lynchburg.

Born May 26, 1936 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Estie "S" Oliver Dove, and Myrtle Yeatts Dove.  She was predeceased by a brother, Rev. Donald Dove; a sister-in-law, Jo Ann Dove; and a niece, Elizabeth Wasson.  Mrs. Scott was a member of Timberlake Baptist Church where she faithfully served in children's ministries for 50 years. Sylvia was a graduate of Gretna High School and retired from BGF Industries. She enjoyed spending time with family, gardening, reading, cooking, and playing the piano.

She is survived by her husband, Leslie Thomas Scott of the residence; one son, Van Scott of Hurt; one daughter, Jill Davis and husband, Buddy of Forest; two grandchildren, Kyle Davis of Forest, and Collin Davis of Forest; and a special nephew, Phillip Dove of Spring Hill, TN.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 28, 2023 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. David Sexton.  Burial will follow in Gretna Burial Park.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
