Susie Myers Eanes

CHATHAM Susie Myers Eanes, 73, of Chatham, died Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at Chatham Health and Rehab Center. Born Feb. 7, 1937, in Pittsylvania County she was a daughter of the late William Berkley Myers and Carrie Simpson Myers.

She was predeceased by her husband, William Franklin Eanes.

Mrs. Eanes was a member of Gretna Christian Church and retired from Abbott Laboratories. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, reading and feeding birds.

She is survived by three sons, Robert Eanes and wife, Barbie, of Chatham, Raymond Eanes, of Chatham, and Randy Eanes and wife, Sue, of Gretna; a daughter, Linda Eanes Hutcherson, and husband, Ted, of Blairs; a brother, Aubrey Myers, of Gretna; a sister, Avie Robertson, of Blairs; four grandchildren, Robbie Eanes, Ryan Eanes, Adrianna Eanes and Kaitlyn Eanes; and a step-granddaughter, Kristin Hutcherson.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 3, 2010, at Gretna Christian Church by the Rev. Dwight Mays. Burial will follow in the Dalton Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today, April 2, 2010, at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence of her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Ted Hutcherson, 9299 Spring Garden Road, Blairs.
