Gretna……Susie Mae Johnson Talbott, age 94 of Gretna entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior Sunday, August 9, 2026.

Susie was born October 23, 1931 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia, a daughter of the late Silas "Sam" Johnson and Blanche Hamlett Johnson.

Susie was born and raised on the Johnson farm located east of Gretna, Virginia.  She was the youngest child of ten children.  At the time of her death Susie was the last surviving member of her family.

In addition to her siblings, she was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, David "Buck" Elson Talbott.  The greatest joy of David and Susie's lives was singing and playing Gospel music in churches throughout the community

Susie was a member of Zion Chapel and attended Gretna Christian Church.  She was very faithful in attendance and support of her church family.

She is survived by a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 12, 2026 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Lee Ashley, Minister.  Burial will follow in Greenfield Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 12, 2026 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
