Susie Myers Eanes

CHATHAM-Susie Myers Eanes, age 73 of Chatham died Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at Chatham Health and Rehab Center.

Born February 7, 1937 in Pittsylvania County she was a daughter of the late William Berkley Myers and Carrie Simpson Myers. She was predeceased by her husband, William Franklin Eanes. Mrs. Eanes was a member of Gretna Christian Church, and retired from Abbott Laboratories. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, reading, and feeding birds.

She is survived by three sons, Robert Eanes and wife, Barbie of Chatham, Raymond Eanes of Chatham, and Randy Eanes and wife, Sue of Gretna; a daughter, Linda Eanes Hutcherson and husband, Ted of Blairs; a brother, Aubrey Myers of Gretna; a sister Avie Robertson of Blairs; four grandchildren, Robbie Eanes, Ryan Eanes, Adrianna Eanes, and Kaitlyn Eanes; and a step-granddaughter, Kristin Hutcherson .

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 3, 2010 at Gretna Christian Church by Rev. Dwight Mays. Burial will follow in the Dalton Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 P.M. Friday at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence of her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Ted Hutcherson, 9299 Spring Garden Road, Blairs.
