Susie Ramsey Aylor, wife of the late Stanton Easley Aylor, died Thursday, March 20, 2014 in the Privette Home in Lynchburg. Born October 16, 1913 in Gretna she was a daughter of the late Dr. Oscar Lee Ramsey and Susie Fitzgerald Ramsey. She was predeceased by two brothers, Edmond Fitzgerald Ramsey and Dr. Oscar Lee Ramsey, Jr.; and one sister, Virginia Ramsey McCartney. Mrs. Aylor was a graduate of Westhampton College University of Richmond in the class of 1934. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lynchburg for over sixty years, a charter member of Virginia Baptist Hospital Auxiliary, past member of William Henry Ramsey Chapter UDC, Charter member of the Gretna Chapter No. 118 Order of the Eastern Star, and a member of Lynchburg Woman's Club and Fort Hill Woman's Club. She is survived by three sons, Oscar Ramsey Aylor and wife Kathleen of Fuquay-Varina, NC, Stanton Easley Aylor, Jr. and wife, Laura of Forest and Robert Lee Aylor and wife, Judy of Lynchburg; four granddaughters and one grandson, Jeannie A. Adams of Richmond, Paige A. McQuade of Raleigh, NC, Robin Ann Apicella of Apex, NC, Emma Carter Aylor and William Stanton Aylor of Forest; three great granddaughters, Courtney and Katie Adams, and Abigal Apicella; three great grandsons, Alex and Noah Dalton, and Ethan Apicella; and one sister, Rebecca R. Forsyth of San Diego, CA. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 23, 2014 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by the Rev. Dr. Sue Fitzgerald. Burial will follow in Gretna Burial Park.
