Gretna………Sterling Paul Midkiff, Sr., age 85 of Gretna died Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at his residence.

Born December 19, 1935 in Pittsylvania County, he was a son of the late Herbert Edd Midkiff and Nannie Lee Rowland Midkiff.  He was predeceased by his wife, Louise Hughes Midkiff; one son, Sterling Paul Midkiff, Jr.; one daughter, Mary Lee Midkiff; one brother, Kenneth Wayne Midkiff; and two sisters, Joyce Rigney and Margie Midkiff.  Mr. Midkiff was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church and he retired from Goodyear.  He loved blue grass music and he enjoyed traveling.

He is survived by one son, Eddie Midkiff of Gretna; one brother, Rodger Midkiff and wife, Gloria of Gretna; a daughter-in-law, Laurie Blount Midkiff; four grandchildren, Stephanie Midkiff, Cory Blount, Alex Fraser, and Amanda Anderson; one great-grandchild, Nevin White; and one great-great-grandchild, Jayden White.

Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Gretna Burial Park by Rev. R.G. Rowland.
