Gretna……….Stephen "Steve" Gene Moss, age 58 of Gretna died Sunday, August 8, 2021 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born February 7, 1963 in Lynchburg, he was a son of Audie Gene Moss and wife, "Buzzy" Moss of Lynchburg and Carolyn Jones Moss of Hurt.  Stephen was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Flossie Jones Denton.  He was a member of Mulberry Baptist Church and he was an employee of BGF Industries for 40 years.  He was a great husband, father, son, brother, and friend; and he enjoyed NASCAR, football, hockey, and fishing.

In addition to his father and mother, he is survived by his wife, Janice Toller Moss of the residence; two sons, Derek S. Moss and wife, Angela of Rustburg, and Jared T. Moss and wife, Amanda of Lynchburg; one step-son, Michael Ray Cox, Jr. and wife, Taneshia of Chesterfield; one step-daughter, Holly C. Dudley and husband, Chad of Hurt; one brother, Damous R. Moss of Lynchburg; two sisters, Christa King of Hurt, and Amy Gibson and husband, Bobby of Lynchburg; one nephew, Brandon King of Hurt; and 17 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at Christian Life Pentecostal Holiness Church by Rev. Dwayne Hammock, Rev. Michael Turner, and Rev. Randy Foster.  Burial will follow in Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, August 9, 2021 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
