Chatham…..Stella Mae Hedrick King, age 65 of Chatham died Monday, October 3, 2011 at her residence.
Born May 11, 1946 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of Callie Gibson Hedrick of Gretna and the late Walter B. Hedrick. Mrs. King was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy, Gretna, and was a home maker. She enjoyed doll collecting, crafts, flowers, and gardening. Mrs. King was a lover of all animals, especially dogs.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Thomas King of the residence; two daughters, Patricia Carter of Chatham, and Marie Jackson and her husband, Carl of Gretna; one brother, Larry Hedrick of Lynch station; two sisters, Frances Shelton of Gretna, and Sue Bolling of Gretna; two grandchildren, Amanda Carter, and Karen Jackson; and one great-grandchild, Gavin Cox.
Graveside services will be conducted 4:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at Carl O. Moran Memorial Garden by Rev. Bobby Brumfield.
