Gretna……….Shirley Brooks Pickral, age 82 of Gretna, died Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Guggenheimer Health and Rehab Center in Lynchburg.
Born March 28, 1935 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Marion A. Brooks and Margie Bell Dalton Brooks. She was predeceased by a son, Larry Dean Pickral. Shirley was a member of First Southern Baptist Church and was a home maker. She loved her cats; and enjoyed dancing, cooking and worrying about and spending time with her family.
She is survived by four sons; Jerry King and wife, Sarah of Gretna, Lynn Pickral of Gretna, Darrell Pickral and wife, Wendy of Altavista and Ricky Pickral of Gretna; one sister, Lucy Doss of Gretna; 16 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Bobby Brumfield. Burial will follow in Greenfield Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
