Gretna……….Shirley Ann Owen, age 86 of Gretna died Friday, July 22, 2022 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born March 25, 1936 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Overton Owen and Lottie Dalton Owen.  Shirley graduated from Gretna High School in 1954 and she organized every class reunion.  She was a bookkeeper with People's Bank of Gretna and a member of the American Business Women's Association.  Shirley was a member of Gretna Christian Church where she served as choir member, deaconess, clerk and treasurer.  She was a member of the garden club and she enjoyed traveling.

She is survived by numerous cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 25, 2022 at Gretna Christian Church by Lee Ashley, Minister.  Burial will follow in Gretna Burial Park.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10 to 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 25, 2022 at Gretna Christian Church Fellowship Hall.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Gretna Christian Church, P.O. Box 644, Gretna, VA 24557.
