Gretna…..Shirley Marie Morris Rowland, age 84 of Gretna died Saturday, August 27, 2016 at Gretna Health and Rehab Center.
Born February 2, 1932 in Campbell County she was a daughter of the late Ira A. Morris, Sr. and Ruby Burgess Morris. She was predeceased by a brother, Ira A. "Rusty" Morris, Jr. Mrs. Rowland enjoyed crafts and crocheting.
She is survived by her husband, John L. Rowland of the residence; one daughter, Kathy Phelps and friend, Bill Harvey of Gretna; two grandchildren, Tiffany Satterfield and husband, Tony of Gretna and John Phelps and friend, Sadie Moore of Gretna; three great-granddaughters, Heather Renee Midkiff and friend, Jason Waller of Gretna, Chelsea Amos of Gretna and Charlie Elizabeth Phelps of Danville; two great-great-grandsons, Daniel Doss, Jr. of Gretna and Brayden Waller of Gretna; one brother, Steve Morris and wife, Suzanne of Glen Allen; one sister, Pat Morris Puckette of Lynch Station; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Monday, August 29, 2016 at Gretna Burial Park by Preston Coates.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday, August 28, 2016 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
