Hurt……Shirley Virginia McGhee, age 80 of Hurt died Saturday, November 18, 2017 at her residence.
Born July 11, 1937 in Campbell County, she was a daughter of the late Wade Carter and Bertha O'dell Reynolds Carter. She was predeceased by a son, Mark Green; two brothers, Douglas Carter and Glenn Carter; and a son-in-law, Donnie Layne. Mrs. McGhee was a former employee at BGF Industries. She loved to shop and visit with family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Roger McGhee of the residence; ; two sons, Tim Green and wife, Penny of Gretna and Jeff Green of Port St. Lucie, FL; two daughters, Debbie Layne of Hurt and Sharon Pennington and husband, Sonny of Metairie, LA; three sisters, Geraldine Arnold of Brights, Mary Hall of Altavista and Susan Easome and husband, Wayne of Gretna; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Friday, November 24, 2017 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Lynn Marstin.
