Gretna……Shirley Singleton Kinsley, age 85 of Gretna died Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at her residence.

Born December 21, 1936 in Abingdon, she was a daughter of the late Lundy Singleton and Ann Houser Singleton.  She was predeceased by her husband, Joe Kenneth Kinsley, Sr.  Mrs. Kinsley was a member of Gretna Christian Church and a former substitute teacher with Pittsylvania County Schools.  She was very active in Gretna Youth Sports for many years; and she loved car auctions and raising Boston Terriers.

She is survived by three sons, Robin Swanson of Gretna, Joe Kinsley, Jr. of Cascade, and Steve Kinsley of Pittsville; two sisters, Dorothy Slemp of Abingdon, and Peggy Smith and husband, Kenneth of Abingdon; two granddaughters, Emilia Kinsley, and Ashleigh Kinsley; and one great-grandchild.

Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 30, 2022 at Gretna Burial Park by James Crews and Bishop Kell Stone.
