Gretna………Shirley Wright Harris, age 99 of Gretna, passed away Friday, October 10, 2025 at her residence.

Born July 22, 1926 in Arrington, she was a daughter of the late Charles Henry Wright and Margaret Poindexter Wright. She was predeceased by her husband, Homer Benjamin Harris; one brother, Dexter Wright; and two sisters, Jean Dillard and Roger Candler. Shirley found great joy in her role as a devoted mother and homemaker. She faithfully served as secretary for Bethel Baptist Church before becoming a member of Open Bible Baptist Church.

She is survived by three daughters; Deborah Kyser and husband, Pastor Tim of Gretna, Valerie Hall and husband, Randal of Lynchburg, and Cynthia Isaacs and husband, Robert of Gladys; one sister, Phyllis Smith of Madison Heights; one brother, Lynwood Wright and wife, Charlotte of Roseland; 10 grandchildren, Carrie, Steven, Jonathan (Andrea), Emily, Hope (AJ), Taylor, Joy, Katherine, Laura (Michael), and Lee; and 2 great-grandchildren, Gabriel and Rhys.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 13, 2025 at Open Bible Baptist Church by Pastor Tim Kyser. The family will reconvene for the burial at 2:30 p.m. Monday, October 13, 2025 at Oak Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, 725 Davis Creek Lane, Lovingston, Virginia.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 13, 2025 at Open Bible Baptist Church.
