Shelby Jean Witt Logwood, age 72 of Hurt passed away on Monday, January 6, 2025 at her residence.

Born May 7, 1952 in Campbell County, she was a daughter of the late Nathan Elijah Witt and Doris Ellen Baber Witt. She was predeceased by her husband, Roosevelt Logwood; a daughter Angela Mikels Kidd; an infant son; and her  brother, N.E. Witt.

Shelby was a gentle-hearted and hardworking woman, who never met a stranger. Her love was unconditional, her forgiveness was endless, her spirit was wild, and her words were kind. Shelby dedicated over 30 years of her working career at the Altavista Hardee's, where she was known as grandma to many she worked with.

Left to cherish her memories are her grandson, Corey Kidd and wife, Malorie; granddaughters Paige Walden and Loren Chance; her children, Nancy Ross, Jesse Wilson and wife, Hope, Teresa Hanks, Daniel Hanks; her sisters, Mary Bare and husband, John, Audrey Hamilton and husband, David, Joyce Stinson and husband, David, Pamela Willoughby and husband, Doug; many other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Graveside services will be conducted  11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 9, 2025 at the Leffler Memorial Community Cemetery by Pastor Ronnie Simpson.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
