Gretna………Shelby Chism Crews, age 77 of Gretna died Friday, February 23, 2024 at Runk and Pratt Nursing Home in Forest.

Born March 27, 1946 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Alvin Lee Chism and Jennie Mae Haskins Chism Robertson and her late husband, Roy Robertson. She was predeceased by her husband, Roy "Clyde" Crews; two brothers, Reuben Chism, and Harry Wayne Chism; and one sister, Lorene Ferguson.  Mrs. Crews was a member of Summersett Baptist Church, and she retired as a supervisor with BGF Industries after 45 years of service.  She loved working, baking, flowers, and going for walks.

She is survived by one son, Vernon Crews and wife, Sherri of Gretna; one brother, Roger Chism and wife, Brenda of Gretna; two grandchildren, Amanda Bailess and husband, Kevin of Gretna, and Blake Crews & wife, Savanna of Gretna; and eight great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 25, 2024 at Carl O. Moran Memorial Garden by Pastor Ronnie Simpson, and Rev. Jason Andrews.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 25, 2024 at Carl O. Moran Memorial Garden.
