Gretna…..Sarah Moore Ridgeway, age 80 of 2313 Gallows Road, Gretna died Monday, August 20, 2012 at her residence.
Born May 26, 1932 in Pittsylvania County she was a daughter of the late Willie Thomas Moore and Edna Mitchell Moore. She was predeceased by a daughter, Vivian Gail Garrett; and a sister, Jewell Bailess. Mrs. Ridgeway was a member of New Beginnings Baptist Church, and retired from Universal Electric. She enjoyed blue grass music, and camping.
She is survived by her husband, James Alfred Ridgeway of the residence; three sons, Dyke Garrett and his wife Donna of Evington, Raymond Garrett and his wife Karen of Bassett, and Tinker Garrett of Gretna; one daughter, Karen Pillow and her husband, Sean of Hurt; three step-sons, Roger Ridgeway and his wife, Penny of Rustburg, Alfred Ridgeway and his wife, Vicky of Gretna, and Bill Ridgeway of Gretna; one step-daughter, Teresa Wade and her husband, Ronnie of Gladys; one sister, JoAnn Mayhew of Myrtle Beach, SC; 8 grandchildren, including a grandson that she reared, Damon Garrett; 8 great-grandchildren; 7 step-grandchildren; and 5 step-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Thursday, August 23, 2012 at Motley United Methodist Church Cemetery by Rev. Bobby Brumfield.
The family will receive friends at the residence.
