Gretna……….Sandy Lee Amos Mayhew, age 52 of Gretna, Virginia was granted her angel wings when Jesus called her home on Wednesday, April 13, 2022.   Sandy was a precious soul, and a bright beacon of light and love in her family's life.  We will meet you on the other side, we miss and love you.

Sandy was born April 4, 1970 in Danville, Virginia. She was a daughter of Dexter Earl Amos and Brenda Lovelace Amos of Gretna.

Sandy was employed by Centra Health Hospital for 19 years as a Radiology Technician.  Sandy had a strong faith in the Lord and was of Baptist Faith. Sandy was a loving daughter, a devoted mother, she enjoyed cooking for her family, designing the layout of her home, landscaping her yard, and photography.

She was known as "Sidecar Sandy" because of her love for motorcycles, like her father. She enjoyed riding her purple and white motorcycle with the sidecar on daily outings and many trips to Myrtle Beach. Her trip now is being made to Heaven!

In addition to her parents, she is survived by one son, Shane Scott Mayhew and significant other, Emilee of Kingsport, Tennessee; one daughter, Samantha Jo Mayhew and significant other, Blake of Gretna; one brother, D. Scott Amos and wife, Lisa of Gretna; one sister, Susan Glenn Amos and husband, Barry Stocks of Dinwiddie; a loving fiancé, Phillip T. Roark; three nephews, Dillon Amos, David Amos, and Jared Dalton; a sister-in-law, Jeanne M. Younger; a brother-in-law, Daniel Mayhew; and her beloved dog, Max.

A special thanks to all that came and gave comfort to her, and for the loving care of Centra Hospice.

A register book will be available at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home for friends and family to sign.

Per her wishes, there will be a service at a later date.
