Evington……Sandra Layne Worley, age 69 of Evington died Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born April 27, 1953 in Lynchburg, she was a daughter of the late James Howard Layne and Martha Mason Layne.  She was predeceased by one sister, Barbara Plymale; and one granddaughter, Laynee Mae.  Mrs. Worley was a member of Salem United Methodist Church in Evington and she was a retired school teacher with Campbell County Schools.  She loved reading, baking cakes, talking on the phone, and teaching.

She is survived by her husband, Richard "Dickie" Worley of the residence; two sons, Jonathan Plymale of Evington, and Justin Plymale and wife, Mindy of Evington; three step-daughters, Lisa & husband, Lynn, Karen, and Patty; one brother, Eddie Layne and wife, Deborah of Hurt; eight grandchildren, Dylan, Caleb, Hailey, Ryan, Aiden, Owen, Alex, and Jackie; and five nephews, Jimmy, Troy, Chris, Mike, and Bryan.

Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Saturday, August 13, 2022 at Salem United Methodist Church in Evington by Rev. Chuck Schooler.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2 to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, August 13, 2022 at Salem United Methodist Church in Evington.
