Gretna……….Sam (Bo) Amos Woods, age 83 of Gretna died Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at his residence.
Born October 1, 1929 in Gretna, he was a son of the late Sam Amos Woods, Sr. and Myrtle Pauline Worley Woods. He was predeceased by two sisters, Alice Woods Marilla, and Shirley Woods Dickerson. Mr. Woods was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church, an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict and was a superintendent with John W. Daniel Construction. He enjoyed yard work, antique cars, and was an avid Ford man.
He is survived by his wife Joyce Hamlette Woods of the residence; and one son Ralph Woods of Hurt.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Brady Willis. Burial will follow in Carl O. Moran Memorial Garden.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence of his son Ralph Woods, 607 Lynn Street, Hurt, VA.
