Gretna…..Ruth Arlene Walker, age 59 of Gretna died Thursday, October 27, 2011 at Lynchburg General Hospital.
Born July 27, 1952 in Altavista, she was a daughter of Dorothy (Dot) Stump of Gretna, and the late Isaac Benjamin Walker, Sr. She was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses Gretna. She enjoyed reading, and writing poetry of any kind. Miss Walker also enjoyed art, cooking, and sharing her beliefs with other people.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by one brother, Ike Walker and his wife, Janet of Evington; and two sisters, Rebecca Roach and her husband, Calvin of Gretna, and Dinah Watson and her husband, John of Chatham.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Monday, October 31, 2011 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses Altavista by Dan Roncaglione, Minister. Burial will follow in Altavista Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Sunday, October 30, 2011 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
