Altavista…….Russell Ray “Rusty” Haskins, age 64 of Altavista passed away Thursday, September 10, 2026.

Born July 11, 1962 in Lynchburg, he was a son of Linda Shelton Haskins of Hurt and the late Lawrence Ray Haskins. He was predeceased by a sister, Robin Rowland. Mr. Haskins was a U.S. Army veteran, a member of New Beginnings Baptist Church and a truck driver with Old Dominion. He enjoyed working in the yard, cooking and driving his truck.

In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife, Meili Haskins of China; a sister, Kelli Gregory and husband, Mark Gregory, Sr. of Gretna; nieces and nephews, Shelley Hines and husband, Bruce, Mark Gregory, Jr., Justin Rowland and Kenneth Taylor, Jr.; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews including a special great-niece, MacKayla Rowland.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 4, 2026 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Bobby Brumfield. Burial with Military Honors by American Legion Altavista Post 36 and Gretna Post 232 will follow in Carl O. Moran Memorial Garden.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 4, 2026 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
