Abingdon……Russell  Wayne Roach, age 15 of Abingdon died Monday, July 29, 2024.

Born August 15, 2008 in Danville, he was a son of Russell James Roach, Jr. and wife, Tracey of Gretna and Penny Lynn Dalton and husband, Richard of Abingdon.  He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Russell Roach, Sr.; and his maternal grandmother, Sabrina Murray. Russell loved kids and being an uncle.  He loved being outdoors; and animals including his dog, Blue, his favorite chicken, Nugget and his favorite cow, Cheeseburger. He also enjoyed building stuff and taking things apart. He was a jokester and never met a stranger.  Russell was always willing to help out others.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his paternal grandmother, JoAnn Huff Roach of Gretna; his maternal grandfather, Gilmer Murray III of Abingdon; four brothers, James Roach, Jason Roach, Christian Foran and Lucas McMurray; three sisters, Victoria Roach and husband, Grayson, Whitney Brumfield and Brianna Stuart; his step-grandmother, Mary Dalton of Hurt; best friend, Josh Shell; girlfriend, Sierra Akers; and nieces and nephews, Adyline, Bryant, Dallas, Hayven and Elvie.

Graveside services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Friday, August 2, 2024 at the Roach Family Cemetery by Pastor Ronnie Simpson.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 1, 2024 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
